We are very proud of Walk and Talk volunteers, who play such an important part in supporting their communities every week.
So it is so heartwarming to hear that Nigel, one of the amazing Morden Hall Park Walk and Talk volunteers, has received a Civic Pride award from the Mayor of Merton and the London Borough of Merton. He has been recognised for great efforts to befriend and help local people.
Walk and Talk volunteers are brilliant. Welcoming people with a smile. Helping communities to enjoy the great outdoors together. Reducing isolation and loneliness, and having such a positive impact on physical and mental health, in the process.
So a special shout out and thank you to Nigel and to all our volunteers.
You make us proud every week.
Volunteering for a Walk and Talk is very fun, rewarding, relaxed and easy. Volunteers can support a Walk and Talk whenever they wish – and help make such a great impact in the process. Just turn up for any of Walk and Talk (see current locations here) any week and ask other volunteers how you can help and they will really appreciate it and welcome you.
Or if you want to set up a new Walk and Talk in your area e-mail us at joinus@thewalkandtalkmovement.org.
