Calling all Battersea Park, Streatham Common, Lambeth, Putney Heath and Roehampton Communities

At The Walk and Talk Movement we know the impact that simple walk and talks make each week is truly amazing. Just being with other people in lovely local green spaces has such a positive effect on happiness and health – whoever you are and whatever your background. We know walk and talks are the highlight of the week for so many local people across South West London.

That is why The Walk and Talk Movement, with the help of the National Lottery, wants to inspire more local communities to start new Walk and Talks across the London Boroughs of Wandsworth and Lambeth. To support even more walkers and talkers every week. To change lives for the better.

Walk and Talks work best when the local community comes together to support each other. So we are sending this call out to local communities, champions and organisations around the fantastic green spaces of Battersea Park, Streatham Common, Lambeth, Putney Heath and Roehampton.

Walk and Talks are very simple to set up. We can provide all the support you need, including the potential of some initial funding, and do all we can to help you kickstart a Walk and Talk to make a real local impact and change lives. Once a group is successfully up and running (we should say walking) then they can run (sorry walk) themselves with local volunteers supporting each other.

We have also seen so many walkers and talkers reconnect with their community and go on to help other local organisations and groups – multiplying the local benefits and impact.

Here is an example of the sort of impact Walk and Talks make every week.

We are looking to finalise local community champions from the Battersea Park, Streatham Common and other Lambeth green spaces and the Putney Heath/Roehampton area by Christmas so we can support them to launch new Walk and Talks in Spring 2025.

So please contact us if you want to make a real, lasting and sustainable difference to your local community.
