Burns weekend really is a special occasion for the Wimbledon Park Walk and Talkers.

Every year Tommy, a lovely and treasured member of the community, and a great bagpiper, gets the walk and talk off to a rousing start.

…and this year amazing local volunteers including Anita, Jan, Mark and Carole did wonders, creating a feast of haggis, neeps and tatties for more than 30 people…not before Tommy has piped in the haggis of course.

As Robbie Burns wrote…”We’ll take a cup of kindness yet, For the sake of auld lang syne.”

I can’t think of anything kinder than people coming together for a friendly and heartwarming celebration.

Join the community run Wimbledon Park Walk and Talk every Saturday at 10.30am from opposite the Walk and Talk banner on the tennis courts, beside the café in the park, come rain, wind, sunshine or whatever else the elements throw at us. No booking or registration is needed and all are welcome.

Or join any of the other locations for a friendly welcome and kindness.

Also we are so happy to let you know about the Your Outside Mindset podcast interview with co-founder of The Walk and Talk Movement Alison Palmer. She discusses The Walk and Talk initiative in Wimbledon Park which has since expanded to multiple locations and attracted thousands of participants.

You can access it via Apple podcasts:

Thank you Ali and all the Walk and Talk community.
