September is a special month for The Walk and Talk Movement as we celebrate our fourth birthday.

More than 1,000 Walk and Talks and tens of thousands of participants later – the local communities we inspired are still stepping out together and putting their best feet forward. We are so proud of them.

Take this Saturday 20th September as a great example.

The Wimbledon Park Walk and Talk group – where it all started – celebrate their own four year birthday. Join this friendly group at 10.30am from next to the Walk and Talk poster near the cafe in this lovely green space.

The Morden Hall Park Walk and Talk group are organising a friendly get together to celebrate The Wandle Fortnight involving a beautiful and relaxed Walk and Talk along the banks of the Wandle and through the Wandle Valley. Starting at this wonderful National Trust property in the picnic area near the Stable Yard and Snuff Mill at 10.30am, the group will wind their way to the historic Merton Abbey Mills – where free refreshments will be provided and members of the Mitcham Walk and Talk group are planning to join in the fun after their walk.

Meanwhile the launch of the new Putney Walk and Talk group earlier this month has been a great success – with more than 50 local walkers and talkers joined by Merton Mayor Cllr Jeremy Ambache, local MP Fleur Anderson, Sue Bucknall a Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservator, Angela Evans-Hill Deputy Chief Executive of Wimbledon and Putney Commons. Last weekend they were also joined by Colin Cooper, Chief Executive of Putney and Wimbledon Commons as Karl one of the Commons Rangers, joined on his horse. Come along to this fantastic new Walk and Talk across the beautiful Putney Heath starting from The Green Man, Wildcroft Road SW15 3NG at 10.30am on Saturday.

You can find the locations of all the Walk and Talks here.

Everyone is welcome. No bookings and reservations needed. Just turn up.

The Walk and Talk community would love to see you there.

Also advance warning for next Saturday 27th – some of our Walkers and Talkers are involved in this fantastic Wandle Trail Walk if you want to join at any time along the way:
